The tech confirms ownership with ID and registration or title, then reads the ignition or the seat lock and cuts a key that fits every lock on the bike where they were keyed alike from the factory: ignition, gas cap, seat, helmet lock. Bikes with immobilizers, HISS on Hondas or the red-key system on Ducatis, are programmed on site and may need the security module read. The fork lock is tested before the tech leaves.
Motorcycle keys run $105 to $255. A plain mechanical key for an older Honda or a scooter is $105. Transponder keys, and immobilizer bikes where no key exists at all, reach $255. The $89 service call is applied toward the total. A damaged ignition lock that has to be replaced is quoted as its own line before the work. Weekends cost the same as weekdays; only the $35 evening and $70 overnight surcharges apply.

Motorcycle Keys: quick answers
Harley with no key at all. Possible?+
Yes. Most Harley ignitions and fork locks can be read at the bike and a key cut to code. Models with a fob-based security system need the fob paired or a PIN entered, which the tech does with you standing there.
My Ducati needs the red key and I do not have it. Is the bike done for?+
No. The red master key makes it faster, but the tech can usually read the immobilizer directly. If the module must be reset, that cost is named on the call before anyone drives.
Scooters and e-bikes?+
Gas scooters, yes, priced like small motorcycles. E-bike battery locks are often proprietary cylinders that cannot be cut; describe the lock on the call and the tech will say.
